As there was no contract of any sort, and no mention of a cost to just quote, I'd send them a recorded delivery letter, thanking them for visiting your property on <date> to give you a free quote for installation of a heat pump, but you have decided to go with an alternative supplier who were cheaper and provided a quote quicker, so will not be requiring their services.
