Help can someone explain this

I have found two laptops

can someone explain the Intel Centrino Duo dual core does this mean it is twice as fast as stated so 3.2 Ghz proccessor? If so why does it say 1.6. THe other is 1.7 compared to 1.6 which is faster

    It's basically 2 processors in one box so it can be faster IF the software can use both processors.

    The Duo is a more modern CPU and is therefore more future-proof & as they become more common they'll be more software that can use it.

    Personally I wouldn't tounch the Advent as it's PC Worlds "own brand" stuff, but if you've got a better use for the £100...

    To add to what alanrowell said:

    Dual core means it has 2 processors on the same chip, both running at 1.6 GHz. Each core can run a separate program, or both cores can run separate parts of the same program, if the program is multi-threaded.
  • So basically the FUJITSU SIEMENS AMILO PI 1505 is better and usually faster thanks for that
