Buckled alloy - writeoff or repair?
My wife's Jaguar X-Type estate has 18-inch Aruba alloys and 40-section rubber. They look great but in the rural area where we live they are prone to pothole damage. In the past 12 months we have lost two tyres and also buckled two of the wheels. Last weekend I picked up a set of four 16-inch Jaguar alloys with virtually new 55-section tyres for a bargain £300, which look good and drive well (with a bonus of improved fuel consumption) but now I'm left with two good 18 inch wheels and four good tyres. For resale purposes I'm thinking I should offer the car with both sets of 16-inch and 18-inch alloys so I'm wondering what to do about the two damaged wheels.
Is it possible to repair a buckle on an alloy wheel, or should I just keep my eyes peeled on eBay and pick up a couple of wheels as and when they become available? I'm in no hurry to sell the car because my wife loves it so much so I can play the long game in getting hold of a couple of replacement wheels.

Take the buckled wheels to a wheel refurbishment place to see if the wheel can be repaired. It really depends on the size and angle of damage. The man without a signature.0

Why would you ever wat to put them back on the car? he roads in this country just don't make them viable.
Sell the two remaining ones and recoup te cost of the 16" inch ones.0 -
I don't want to put them back on the car, but do feel that presenting both sets as an option may help resale.0

It probably won't most people won't have the space to store them. I'd probably sell the good ones on ebay hoping someone with the same alloys is looking for some of them spare.0
