 Anybody had any luck with Natwest reclaiming PPI on personal loan please as I am trying and awaiting a reply. Claiming from 2003 and still have all details. Natwest sent me notification that they need more time to investigate my claim, its been 10 weeks now. How long before I send the next letter.
Cheers Dave

Hi and welcome
There have been a lot who have had dealings with these and success, but keep on at them otherwise.
It seems lots of companies/banks have backlogs and many are receiving letters asking for more time, I would stick with it if you can, see what the outcome is on the next letter, good luck. The one and only "Dizzy Di"

Hi, I have a question about reclaiming from Natwest - I currently have a loan with them and cancelled the PPI about 3 years ago, after consolidating the loan in 2005, I think. Can I reclaim from the original loan, but I fon't have any details on this, and as I still bank with them, will this affect anything? All I have with them is the loan, the current account and a small overdraft. thanks0

Hi there
I take it you mean reclaim the ppi you paid into the loan account?
If the PPI was mis sold then yes you can, it does not matter is its cancelled or not, or if the account is still active or settled.

Hello
Natwest/RBS do take their time with their investigations. This is often because they are waiting for docs from the branch. Ring the direct line on the on the letter and speak to your caseworker, I have found them generally quite helpful. If you aren't successful then send it to the FOS.
Good luck, hope you don't have to wait much longer!0 -

Hello Plumfin
When i did my reclaiming with RBS/Natwest I didn't have the loan a/c numbers either but asked them to review all loans that I had in the past as they were all missold in the same way.
Shouldn't affect anything you currently hold with them. I have claimed for myself, my husband and son and we have had no problems.
So you can go ahead and reclaim provided you have grounds for misselling.
Good luck and just shout if you need any further info. You need to download the FOS questionnaire and send it to the RBS PPI Concerns office in Manchester.0 -
Thanks for that advice! will let you know how I get on.0

UPDATE
after 4 months of waiting for NATWEST to make a decision they have just let me know that I have to wait for the outcome of the impending court case so they are putting my claim on hold. I asked if all claims were being put on hold and they said no just certain ones.............. Is that not discrimination!!!!!!!!!!!!! is that even legal to pick and choose. Replys welcome

Hi Dave
How frustrating this is for you, especially as its a case before all this JR came about 8 October.
Are you aware you can make the complaint to the Financial ombudsman service (FOS) now, due to being informed this.
However, the decision is yours, so if you want to wait or continue to make the complaint to the FOS.
Either way good luck.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"

Hi dont know if I am on the right link but after 2 years Natwest have finally paid me back my ppi. The financial ombudsman was most helpful. I have my payments plus interest. Interestingly I have had the money paid into my account, my loan reduced and my monthly payments reduced. I am still awaiting the letter that informs me of all this and whether I agree with the payment. Think I will be changing my bank! Thanks to this website for all their help.0
