Hi,
I have recently been using avast and adaware (both free) and have had a few problems with viruses and keyloggers, can anyone recommend me some good ones to use to try eliminating the problems
I wouldnt mind paying a total of £30-40 but thats my max budget really
Thanks

Have you upgraded avast lately as ive found it to be fine with me...
If not do a quick online scan with http://www.f-secure.com/en_UK/ to find out the problems."If you no longer go for a gap, you are no longer a racing driver" - Ayrton Senna0 -
Download the latest version of Malwarebytes, update it first before running a full scan and post the log file in your next message.

the problems normally occur due to people blindly downloading anything that pops up on their screen
you need this codec/plug in
free registry scan
free smileys/screensavers
rather than your antivirus
also teenagers who blindly download and open anything they get off filesharing sites or in links from their (virus infected PC) friends emailsEx forum ambassador

Download MALWAREBYTES (Make sure you click 'DOWNLOAD LATEST VERSION')
http://www.filehippo.com/download_malwarebytes_anti_malware/
Open malwarebytes and goto UPDATE and click 'check for updates'. After its updated goto SCANNER and click PERFORM QUICK SCAN then click SCAN
Remove everything thats found (needs to be ticked)
Post the COMPLETE log here AFTER youve deleted everything it finds
If anything was found then do the exact same but run a FULL scan
reboot
Download HIJACK THIS (Make sure you click 'DOWNLOAD LATEST VERSION')
http://www.filehippo.com/download_hijackthis/
Click MAIN MENU then DO A SYSTEM SCAN AND SAVE A LOGFILE(Takes seconds) then post the log so we can see whats running
(do NOT do anything else with Hijack but scan and post the FULL log)
If you get a message that you cant write to the hosts file then Press the SHIFT key, and whilst holding it RIGHT CLICK and select RUN AS (admin):idea:0 -
avast and adaware (both free) and have had a few problems with viruses and keyloggers,
If they have been kept up to date then they are not much use are they .
Barclays Bank Online customer Kaspersky is free .
Kaspersky Internet Security quick google shopping shows priced from £13.
Latest Microsoft Security Essentials has become highly regarded as a freebie .
You want total removal of existing AV before installing another and its never wise to run two at once . Use one on the machine and double check by using one of the major vendors online scanners .
