DFS Callback Spam/Harassment

Hi, I recently asked for a callback on the DFS website. I did receive a call back from them, however since then I have had 7 more calls from the number "01302 820252" which is not DFS but a google search says it's a company called "millenium credit." Despite me asking them to take me number off their calling list, they keep calling back trying to get me to take out debt consolidation with them.

I rang DFS back and spoke to them about these harassing calls, they say that this company is not affiliated with DFS and that they don't give callback numbers out to 3rd parties.

Now this can't be a co-incidence as both the number that rang me from DFS and this credit place are Doncaster numbers? Also when I left my number for DFS to ring me back, I gave them a fake name, and this credit company is now ringing my number asking for this fake name.

Can anyone shed any light on this, or has anyone had the same problems after using the DFS callback system?

Sorry I should also add the that 7 calls received was just this evening alone!

Just tell said company that fake name doesnt live at the address or to try and stop them altogether ask them questions about are they happy with they're phone contract, internet deal,

Well I'm sure "Big Bulldog" is not your real name

Anyway I was only making enquirers, so I used a fake name, that way if they pass my details on to a 3rd party (like it looks like they did) then I know when they ring and ask for that name that the call is just spam :money:

Yes your right it's not,but thats not your real name on this forum.;),anyhow I still dont understand that if your enquiry was genuine and were interested in purchasing from DFS it would take alot of explaining when placing an order with them and even more so if you wanted finance as well.:undecided

OK you got me, here is the real story. I put a friends number number into the callback with a joke name, figuring they would get one call from DFS with asking for the silly name and get a laugh out of it it. But now a simple lampoon has backfired on me as they are now getting harressed and it's all my fault. I didn't state this in the first post because a) It's not relevent, I just wanted to know if anyone else was experiencing spam calls after using the callback service and b) I figured if i put that then the thread would just be filled with people complaining about me abusing the service and not helping because I got my just deserts.

I'm fully aware that it is my own fault and I got what I deserve, but it's not me who is getting the phone calls so I am trying to right the wrong that I have done.

And to make matters worse the other friend who I did the same thing to has turned on his phone to TWENTY TWO voicemails left from various companies asking for his joke name.

What a mess!
