  • No the iPod nano only plays music and pictures, the Ipod Video or 5th Generation iPod as it is sometimes known plays movies and video, btw they have just released the new iPOd Nano and Video so if you buy either make sure you get the new versions.

Don't mean to rain on your daughters parade, but is she aware that she will have to download the films etc from the itunes store and they are not the cheapest thing around.

I got my new Nano from the UK apple store who were very efficient will delivery. They said it would take up to 7 days and it came in 2 via signed for UPS.

Don't leave it too late as they will all sell out before Christmas

  • Erm- you don't HAVE to download to have movies on your iPod...you can take any DVD or video clip and convert it to the appropriate filetype, then use iTunes to transport it to the player. I've had whole films on mine before now!

With regards price...you can get the 30gb video iPod for around £150 if you shop around. As a guide to what that'll do, I have 500 albums on mine (about 5500 songs) and a number of short videos, and that only uses up about 21gb. Still got plenty for future purposes. Obviously, if you have a MASSIVE CD collection, then the new 80gb version might be the way to go - but of course, it carries an extra cost...
  • as sir_bargins_a_lot says you definately do not have to buy videos from itunes.

The itunes software itself even includes the option to convert video to ipod format plus there are loads of guides available on google.
