No timer on my central heating thermostat - would it be expensive to get 1 installed?

    As warmfront are replacing your boilers with a combi, I wouldn't waste your money with a room stat for now, as you will hace to have a room stat and timer of some sort fitted by law when they fit the new combi, so this will be in their total cost/job.

    Might not be a complete waste of money, usually new installs use a timeclock on the boiler, TRVs and a roomstat. That only provides timed operation at a set temperature.

    A programmable stat as discussed allows different temperatures at different times, so it's possible to have the heating on Medium overnight, boost to Warm for the morning and Evening periods, automatically.

    Depends on the combi whether it would be compatable with the programmable stat though, some combis just have a 2-wire connection so the stat would be compatibille, others have a proprietory interface and wouldn't be.
    A kind word lasts a minute, a skelped erse is sair for a day.
