Downloading Skype

I am trying to download Skype, I have a download bar at the bottom of my laptop that is telling me:

This type of file can harm your computer. Are you sure you want to download Skypesetup.exe?

I am paranoid about downloading anything anyway, and this has made me think twice!!! What harm can it do?

It's a standard warning for all executable files (.exe). It's in the hope you don't downland Iwillbreakyourcomputer.exe. If you know what your your about to download you may proceed.
