    We''ll agree to dffer, I got what I wanted the way I stated it, and no hassle using the garage I wanted to, they were happy it was a fair price and paid up with two comparable quotes to look at.

    The claims management companies normally get the vehicle inspected by an independentish engineer who checks the list of parts and amount of hours quoted and the work the car needs doing. This is normally enough for the other Insurers to see the quote is accurate

    They didn't even do that, just had both garages submit the quote with the parts lists and hours by fax and gave the agreement back.

    I was referring to how a claims management company work as was Neil, they only obtain a quote from one repairer.
