I'm planning to set up a website so I can promote my ebay shop. I would like some advice whether its better to have a website from scratch or to set up a blog.

What do you intend to put on the website or blog to enable you to be able to promote your eBay items?0

Hello,
In my opinion a website is better, but you have to think carefully...
Do you have any web-development skills?
Do you have much money to invest into developing, creating and maintaining the website?
Do you know how to optimise website with search engines?
If your answer to the abovve questions is 'No' then you would be better off with a blog (like http://www.blogger.com) as most of the work will be done for you and you can just concentrate on putting the content in.
I hope this helps.0 -
Probably both is the answer as one will feed the other. But, a blog is only going to be successful if you have the discipline and inspiration to regularly post. It also needs to be interesting - people are not going to come flocking to a blog which is a series of sales pitches. It's got to be fun and worth regularly reading and be somehow incidentally helping sales. Let me know how it's done and I'll run one alongside my site!0
