Help please connection timing out on some web-pages
I have had a problem for a few weeks now I can get on the Tesco.com web-site but when I try to get on the /finance part I get this message
The connection has timed out
The server at https://www.tescofinance.com is taking too long to respond.
* The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few
moments.
* If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network
connection.
* If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure
that Firefox is permitted to access the Web.
I also cannot get on to Yves Rocher web-site
I have spoken to tesco techie people and they asked me to clear my cookies but that did not work
I ran used CC cleaner and got back onto Tesco but it has gone again and running CC cleaner has not cured it this time. I don't know whether I am using the same options as last time.
I have got Microsoft Security Essentials which was on my computer when I bought it.
Any help would be appreciated

Have you tried accessing the sites with Internet Explorer?
What version of Firefox are you using?0 -
Thank you for your reply.
I have tried accessing from IE and FF and also I have the same problem on a laptop that has Avira. My internet provider is AOL just trying to work out what version of FF I have got :~#
Is it FF 3.6.10?0 -
That sounds like a current version of Firefox. AOL do generally cause nothing but trouble, but maybe Avira is interfering in this case. If you have Avira's WebGuard, there is a known problem with that under certain circumstances. Can you temporarily disable Avira and try the site again? If it works, then at least you know where the problem lies.

Do you have a firewall in your router or any other AOL based restrictions you can control?I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the In My Home MoneySaving, Energy and Techie Stuff boards.
