Hollie, this one would be fine. Woodware is a good make, I would just advise you not to use thickish card in any of the punches like this. I have broken a few of the smaller size punches by trying to punch linen card, which is a bit thicker than normal card - I think it is about 270 gsm and most of these punches would only take about 210 or 220.

Thats brilliant thankyou,i just buy the thin card from rymans it costs just over a £1 so its only thin stuff.will have to purchase one then :D

Another idea for teachers I have done was to make these post it holders. They were more fiddly than I thought they would be because of all the matts I had to cut and stick, but these were well received as well:

I made these for the end of summer term, but you could alter the image to make a bit more Christmassy.

I'll dig out the instructions on how to make them if anyone would like it.

CT they are last years but they will have something similar this year. They were like die cuts on a sheet and you put the ribbons on yourself. I have just been looking for the instructions for the Post it Note Holders lol. I got my pens from ASDA 10 mini pens for about £2.60

Craftygranny I also used the Twilight Mints for Tea & Coffee Holders. Have you got your Robo up and running yet ;)
  • Hi everyone! :hello:

There are some fab ideas on here! :j

I hope it's ok to post a question. I recently, for the first time, made some chocolate chip shortbread. It was delicious and it made me wonder whether I should make some for aunts and uncles for Christmas presents rather than buy them biscuits as I usually do. The question is, how should I wrap them so they stay fresh? Cellophane or something like that? And if so, where could I buy that? :)

I'm going to make 2 matchbox advent calendars this year, need to get cracking with them really ;)

:T My mum made one of those for me when I was little and I thought it was the best thing since sliced bread! So much better than those chocolate advent calendars! :)

Thanks I'll have a look when I go shopping at the weekend.

When I made these in the summer I couldn't find any mini pens, so in the end got some pencils with rubbers on the end and got my OH to saw them up before I sharpened them to fit the post it holder.

Lili if you are going to make them fresh to give out, then just a cellophane bag ie a large card makers bag secured at the top with an elastic band and a fancy ribbon tied round. You can buy the bags from ebay in different sizes.
