Causing an unnecessary obstruction - fault?

Hi
I got a ticket for causing an unnecessary obstruction... which I was .
But! When I parked I was not obstructing the road :A. A car came later and parked on the other side of the road thereby making the road very narrow:( - we both got a fine ticket.
But wasn't this his fault? When I parked there was no problem.
How do I prove that? Or is it impossible?
Cheers money savers

Unless you can prove that you were there first and not the cause of the obstruction then I don't think you've got a leg to stand on. You should appeal nonethelesss.0

It does seem unfair that both get a ticket when its only one persons fault.Somoene at work saw something simialr when a bin lorry couldn't get through. They contacted the police who ticketed both.
Any cctv around that would show who was parked first?0 -
Difficult to prove your innocence unless independant witnesses back you up.
It sounds like a case of "I allways park outside my house syndrome" , regardless of other road users on the 2nd drivers part
I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)
Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed0 -

Something I am becoming used to, on our estate people buy houses with not enough driveway space so they end up parking on junctions and on corners so no one can see. Eventually there will be a head on collision because of this, I truly hope so (less than 15mph in the estate) as then someone might actually do something about it0
