Centrepiece Help

  • I think florist push wire up the stems of gerberas to keep them stiff, they are a very floppy flower! Iv'e seen a few fake ones, and to be honest they all look fine, have a look on ebay and see what there is, you could always order a sample? I honestly think the real thing could be a pain!!

Our florist said that gerberas are the naughty school children - always misbehaving and you can never get them to face the way you want them to!

The centrepieces are beautiful but if you wanted them with real flowers I think they'll be expensive for a florist to make and too difficult for you to do.

If it were me I would go with fake and get them all prepped far before the wedding to make sure they balance. Good luck!
    I love surprises!

Thanks for all the help. I'm worried about the expense too. I'm not going to do them myself but get a florist to do them.

I need a lot of centrepieces due to the size of the wedding so maybe will go for something with a few less gerberas and maybe a tall vase arrangement.

OK, so I agree to stiffen stems wires are inserted.

Some vases do have a wire grid in them to help with arranging your flowers. You can use any suitable sized mesh if you wanted to DIY a version.

If you are making an arrangement where the top of the vase won't be seen you can made a grid using sellotape!
A waist is a terrible thing to mind.
