Does this number ring any bells with anyone? I keep getting calls with what sounds like a recorded voice saying "hello, hello" then get the dialling tone back. I've googled it without success.
Any ideas appreciated! Thanks.

Its a revenue sharing no. They can make up to 4p a call if you call it. Their probaly trying to get you to ring it back.

Thank you. Any ideas how to stop the calls? I signed up for the Telephone Preference Service ages ago and have reported the calls to them, but I've had 3 calls from this number so far today.

Could well originate from Overseas which is not covered by TPS.

The other scam is you ring it and it tells you have won something and gives you a more expensive 070 number to call say at 50p a minute.

You could try complaining to the supplier of the 0871 number on their Freephone

Thanks again. I have phoned the freephone number and the chap I spoke to sounded quite concerned (especially as I am registered with TPS) and he said that he will sort it. Fingers crossed!
