Cordless Phones - 2 bases on same circuit but different lines

I would like to restruture my home telephone network by buying new Binatone MD750 phones. In the specifications, it says each base can have 5 handsets each, and each handset can be registered to 4 bases.

What I want to do is have 2 bases, each connected to a separate phone line (I have two) and then 2 handsets registered to each base. However, I am unsure whether this is possible, and if so, is it easy to switch between bases? The aim would be to not only be able to call using any landline from any handset, even if it was through a different base, but to be able to make intercom calls to any handset.

If anyone knows whether this is possible, please let me know, and I can go ahead and place the orders. As long as it's possible, I can worry about the actual connections when they arrive. At the moment we have to shout across the house as there are two cordless phone circuits and they are not inter-connectable.

Thanks.

Cheers and take care.

Hussein.

I think you will find that you cannot register 1 phone with two base stations. You will have to get a base station that will connect to two lines.

A corded one is here. A cordless one is here.

I can't vouch for the authenticity of the information or availability of these products; I've just searched.

Good luck in your quest. :)

So does that mean that when it says that each handset can connect to 2 bases that it is wrong? Wouldn't it be the case that when you connected to the base, that it was on the other line meant that you wouldmake/receive calls on that line? But as all four phones were on the same virtual circuit as for as the cordless aspect was concerned that intercom would work fine?
