Advice needed please

Hi,

My car had its wing mirror scratched (on both the plastic rim and colour coded part) on Tuesday morning by a major diy stores lorry, I was washing the windows when i seen the lorry go down our street, Our street is very busy with cars both parked and ones passing through

Anyway a black car was coming up the street as the lorry was coming down, The car had right of way but flashed to let the lorry go, I could see he was VERY close to my car infact so close i took a huge gasp in lol, He managed to squeeze by but the silver bits that sort of stick out a little at either end of the tail lights caught my wing mirror and forced it backwards so the mirror was facing the houses across the street!! I quickly ran out but he was like a bat out of hell so i remembered the number on the back of the van, wrote it down and gave the company a call

Gave all the details including the number on the back of the lorry and was told they would be in contact with 48 hours...... 48 hours later and still nothing i gave them a call back, Was put on hold (0845 number) for 21 mins!! They told me the lorry number was tracked down to a depo and i would be called back before the weekend

Its now Saturday morning and i still havent heard anything

I have called a few local garages and the cheapest quote i have recieved it 274.82 for it to be replaced (because its colour coded and they come primed but have to be painted?)

What should i do?

Thanks

Inform your insurers and let them deal with it.Don' be surprised if the lorry driver didn't even know they'd done it as they probably wouldn't feel such a small impact on a large vehicle
