hi, as a keen moneysaver, i am looking for free internet security if there is such a thing?what website can iuse to obtain this?

I use FILEHIPPO for most free downloads
Main 2 are AVAST and AVIRA

Would be a good idea to run a hijack log though in case you have other things running in the background that even you may not be aware of

Download HIJACK THIS (Make sure you click 'DOWNLOAD LATEST VERSION')

Click MAIN MENU then DO A SYSTEM SCAN AND SAVE A LOGFILE(Takes seconds) then post the log so we can see whats running
(do NOT do anything else with Hijack but scan and post the FULL log)
If you get a message that you cant write to the hosts file then Press the SHIFT key, and whilst holding it RIGHT CLICK and select RUN AS (admin)

microsoft security essentials is one of the best free antivirus programs that exists http://www.microsoft.com/security_essentials/ and has out performed even paid antivirus on security tests.

You can get a 3 PC licensed version for free when banking on-line with Barclays.
