Hi you'll proly find that that figure is for both of you, me and the wife had an ipa of £62 pound set up but it was only in my name, after phoning the OR they told me it was for both of us.0

The IPA will only be for one of you, the other won't get one. We have an IPA figure, one only, once its set up it will be coming out of my bank account. I also have a NIL tax code to be set up, again only on my salary - my husband doesn't have a separate IPA nor a NIL tax code (because he doesn't earn enough).0

just wanted to ask if the OR has reduced something on my soa could i then increase something else or once your soa is submitted is it set in stone and you cant change it0

Hi there, I had an IPA letter a few days after my interview, it was requesting 96 per month, my SOA had shown a surplus of about 18 so it was a bit of a shock, I spoke to the OR and they sent me a copy of their calculations, they had reduced 2 items on it. I discussed this with them, if fairness they agreed to one of the items, but not the other, I dont see how you can raise the amount of anything on your SOA unless you have the proof that something has increased. You really need to get a copy of the calculations they used so you can see where the surplus is, and then discuss with them. It is daunting, but your OR will discuss with you.0

have been in touch with or she says i have 14 days to agree or disagree with the ipa, have asked for a copy of the soa that they have recalculated she said that it would come sometime next week but that doesnt give me much time as the 14 days will be nearly up or does me contacting her count as not agreeing in the time frame required0

That is only a guideline timescale that the OR normally works to.
In reality, you have no actual legal obligation to either agree or refuse to sign an IPA before that time is up.
So if it takes you a few days longer, then that is how it will have to be.
The most important thing is not to be pressured into an IPA if is it is set at an amount that you cannot afford.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

In my experience, OR office's give time scales for things to be gone, but this is just to help them get the matter tidied up asap. Do not sign something you dont agree with and work to your time frame.
My OR held on 2 months for my Life Insurance buy back, as i kept delaying (trying to find the money). They should be fairly flexable. Just keep in touch with them by email, so they know you are still looking into.
My OR's inbox must be full !!I'm no expert, but i'll give you my opinion, my support and my experience. Its all i have.
