had my meeting with the O R on monday and today have received a letter saying that an ipa has been prepaired for me to sign and return for 103 per month there is nothing to tell me how they have arrived at this figure as on my soa i only had a surplus of 40,i work part time and really cant afford this amount could they have made a mistake? can i appeal? should they have told me if my soa was not acceptable?. i have to start to start paying end of this month

At this stage you are not obliged to sign or agree to the IPA if you think it is unreasonable.
Ask that they provide a breakdown of how it has been calculated.
An IPA of £103 suggests that they have calculated your surplus as £206 per month. If that is ludicrous, then you need to challenge it and not sign.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

The OR should be able to send you their calculation - my OR showed me mine at our interview. So yes, challenge it, and ask for their calculations. They may have got some of your SOA amounts wrong.0
