Hi everyone,
I was wondering if anyone can give me some advice,I decided to bid for a hedge clipper on ebay and won,it arrived today and its not working,I emailed the seller and they said it was working when they posted it,what do I do now? if I post it back to them do I lose the postage? it cost £9.75 to post it to me.

How did you pay?My TV is broken!

Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j0 -
Hi frivolous_fay,with paypal.0

Ok, that's encouraging. If the seller is unwilling to assist you, you should file an Item Not as Described dispute through paypal. (not ebay)
You will probably have to return the item, but the seller will be forced to cooperate. My TV is broken!

Whats the sellers rating? Check his recent transactions, if he recently bought the same clipper then youve pretty much caught him red handed as you gota ask why he is selling it on again so soon! Ive caught so many people that way.
Otherwise, surely get a friend or someone to look at it as its kinda unfair going through all the paypal nonsense if its a silly thing youve not picked up on!
Ask the seller if he can think of any reason why its not working.0 -
Thanks everyone,I have had a couple of emails from them trying to find out why its not working, they have said I can send it back to them.
I really wanted the hedge cutter, the winning bid was £21.00 and £7.50 p&p,it cost them £9.97 to post it to me and now its going to cost me £9.97 to post it back to them,is there anyway of claiming p&p back?
They said they will give me a refund,do I need to lodge this with paypal so I can be sure to receive the refund?
Then post the item back to them.?
they have a 99.4 rating.0 -
If he's saying it was working when he despatched it then surely he's saying it was damaged in the post. Therefore he should claim for a damaged item through Royal Mail or whoever.0

The box was a bit damaged, they had just put the hedge clippers in the box, they didnt pack it with bubble wrap or scrunched up newspaper,so it might of been damaged in transit, thanks I will email them and see what they say.0
