I have around £1900 in a National Savings account I've had since I was a child, and was just wondering what to do with it. I guess I'd be right in saying I'm not getting the best deal interest wise?
Any help is appreciated!!

Pob,
I trust you have the Investment account (grey book), as they abolished the Ordinary account (blue book) awhile back. See here
National Savings havent been very good with their rates of interest and there are far better deals out there to be had. Have a browse through this site, and see what you can come up with. I have also found this for you.

thanks Judi,
so from reading the articles, my best bet would be to put what I have into a Cash-ISA, then if it fills up, put the excess into a regular savers account?
Thanks again for your help!I used to promote my band here...0 -
Yes, if your a tax payer you need to invest in an ISA. Any money left over can go into a regular savings account. If your not a tax payer, then dont forget to fill in your R85 from the Inland Revenue.pob wrote:thanks Judi,

Remember, if you do decide an ISA is the right avenue for your money, do it before the 05-April, so you can take advantage of this year's allowanceIt's always the grass that suffers, irrespective of whether the elephants are fighting or making love !!!0
