problem with car insurance claim

My car was involved in an accident my insurance company is disputing that i didn't tell them about my son's 6 points on his licence, when I added him to my insurance.
The other driver has admitted liablity. They have asked for a letter, explaining why I didn't tell them, which I did.
I'm just so confused the other driver has admitted liabity.
Can anyone please help

There are two separate issues here.
1) Your insurer has discovered you didn't declare the points, and now will want to look at you to see whether or not they still wish to continue your cover (or how much they want you to pay by way of a premium adjustment)
2) Presumably you have made a claim over the incident, which although the third party driver has admitted liability to you, his insurer may or may not agree! If the third party insurer is putting up a fight, then your insurer may feel that your not telling them everything you should have done could allow them to invalidate your policy and refuse your claim.
If you are convinced about the liability issue you can withdraw your claim and go straight to the third party insurer and make your claim to them. They won't be interested in your own insurance problem, and you won't have any excess to worry about.0
