Npower Gas and Electric Final Bill on a Pre Payment meter
I have just switched from Npower prepayment meter, where I take my gas card and electric key to my local shop and top it up for electricity.
However I have received bills for the gas and electric for £50 each,
I was wondering how this is possible as I have a pre payment meter?

The pavement outside my house is being replaced. Our garden wall is not in the best repair but it is stable. The works Forman states that he is not responsible if during the pavement renovation our wall is damaged. I have been given only 3 to 4 days warning. I would have assumed that when the council surveyor, surveyed and authorised the work he would have accounted for any issues relating to said walls and warned or notified the relevant household.
Is the works Forman correct to assume that he has no responsibility to any damage he might cause?0 -
It could be either a charge for changing the meters or because the tariff changed but wasn't updated in the meter so a debt has accrued. Call them and ask them.I have just switched from Npower prepayment meter, where I take my gas card and electric key to my local shop and top it up for electricity.

its always better to start your own thread, not add on to someone elses, if your house is a private house and the council damage your wall, they will be liable to repair it.0 -
When they change your meters they have to key in a final reading on both. If this final reading was too high, you will get overcharged.
Suggest looking at this, if you took a reading on the day or close etc.
It could also be that their charges were higher than what was being recorded on the meter (the meter failed to update perhaps) which can mean you somethign that you should have paid for but haven't on this basis.
Ask them to explain it.:rotfl: It's better to live 1 year as a tiger than a lifetime as a worm...but then, whoever heard of a wormskin rug!!!:rotfl:0 -
It could be that the meter owed debt, eg not 100% topping up and covering standing charge for a while been in emergency credit0
