  • Get wrapped up and take either their bikes or scooters along the promenade? There are 2 or 3 little "play park" areas along the front so you could easily ride or scoot between them. The promenade has been renovated really nicely in recent years. There is a statue of Eric Morecambe.

Lancaster is fairly near and you could explore Lancaster Castle - I think you can see part of it that used to be a prison. They have an activity afternoon for kids on Wednesday 27th Oct at 2pm, £4 each with a gift for the kids.

There's pond dipping at Leighton Moss at Silverdale on Thursday 28th October, run by RSPB £4 each tel 01524 701601, or just have a mooch and watch birds in the reeds or go on a woodland walk.

Well said. Eric's statue is the most photographed, after Nelson's Column, in the UK.
Opposite is Eric's Cafe, and the Tivoli Pub. The latter contains salt of the earth folk, that you'd expect of the land that time forgot - that's Morecambe, people came for a day but stayed forever!!!
Morecambe prom is wide and wonderful (but don't look inward!)
The views are fantastic, as is the birdlife (take binoculars)
At the eastern end of the prom past Bare is Happy Mount Park.
Walk through the park, and there's a great free adventure playground for children up to teen.
And best of all, the traffic lights change on Wedesday, every Wednesday;)
Once you've cracked Morecambe, then move on to historic Lancaster.
It's a wonderful part of the country, but do wrap-up:T
