Lloyds TSB credit card

Hope someone can help.

Two years ago I wrote to Lloyds to ask whether I'd been paying PPI on my credit card. After a year (and several more letters and faxes) I still hadn't had an acknowledgement.

I then put in a claim (with other claims) to the Ombudsman. Then a couple of months ago Lloyds wrote saying they wouldn't uphold my complaint, that they didn't have a record of me signing for it, but they knew I must have done.

The adjudicator found in my favour - said it was a classic case, as found on their website - but Lloyds has not replied to them, either. Their letter went to Lloyds at the end of July. It has now been passed to an ombudsman.

Has this happened to anyone else? The adjudicator said they'd award me £200 compensation, though I think Lloyds should give more, due to their behaviour in not even replying.

If it goes to the ombudsman, how much longer should that take? I'm getting fed up, here!

Thanks for any help.

    Hi there

Lloyds are known to ignore the adjudicators decision, and this is procedure, it will go to the ombudsman now and you will also be awarded further redress for the distress and inconvenience caused.

Its difficult to predict a timescale, but keep in touch with the FOS regularly for updates.

How long did you actually wait before it was passed on to the adjudicator?
Normally its not as long as that.;)
    Good luck with this.

Thanks, Di - it took longer because I had about 8 complaints about Lloyds. They are dealing with them two at a time. My letter was received at the FOS over ten months ago. The guy contacted me at the end of July and accepted immediately that PPI was missold - he wrote to LLoyds that day but of course hasn't heard a word in return. I can understand Lloyds not agreeing with his decision, but can't understand them just ignoring the FOS.

Do you know how long it takes to go to the ombudsman after the adjudicator's done all he can?
  • er, hello? This wasn't an "adjudicator". It was a Claims Management Company. These guys are about as low as ambulance chasers IMHO.
They make promises they CANNOT KEEP and LIE about what they can deliver to you.

You've been conned and I bet any money that FOS don't go in your favour.

    Hiya

A lot of reclaims there then?;)

They do have very high volumes to deal with, but the adjudicator then adds it to the queing system to the ombudsman, and its difficult to give a timescale.

If you've not heard anything by say 2 months, I would contact them and ask for an update, hope you won't be waiting too long though, fingers crossed.;)

What are you talking about? It was an adjudicator at the FOS - I've had letters, emails and phone calls from them.

I've never had dealings with any claims management company in my life, nor do I intend to.

i was in the same boat as you bonnie the adjucator upheld my complaint .but lloyds did not reply in the time fos gave them,so it was moved on to the ombudsman..however about 6 weeks later lloyds did reply to the adjucators decision and said they would pay out:beer::beer: they also said it would take about 8 weeks to sort out.

so hopefully you may not have to wait for the ombudsman.

    Thanks, Alfie!

So if Lloyds were told it was upheld at the end of July and it's now going to the Ombudsman, do you think I'll have it in time for Christmas?

I have heard that Lloyds is snowed under - funny, isn't it, that they should be having this trouble!
