TV on laptop?

What would I need to enable viewing of the tv channels on a laptop as there is no aerial connection in the room?

You could buy a USB Freeview adaptor - they look like a memory stick - and use that. They come with a small indoor aerial. These generally aren't very good, but it depends upon where you are in relation to your TV transmitter and how you position the aerial. There's a map of transmitters here. Zoom in on your area and double-click the nearest transmitter to see the area it covers. If the room has a window facing a transmitter, and you have few obstructions between you, then it might work.

Depends what you want to watch
  • Providing what you want to watch the best option is one of the mobile devices as I used to sell them, but steer clear of the sub £40 ones they were terrible from memory. Think they were branded Sumvision. We used to send 90% of them back to the suppliers.
