Indesit Washing Machine

Can anyone advise on how I can resolve the problem I am having with my Indesit Washing Machine.

I purchased it in 2002 from Comet and didnt take out an extended warranty. In 2003 it started to make an horrendous noise. Comet came and repaired the Bearing Spider?. Last night it started with the same problem and has ruined a whole load of washing inc some expensive Sports Wear.

Does anyone know if I can demand a replacement machine or not because I have already had it repaired? Can I seek a refund for the cost of the repair
from Indesit and costs for damaged goods.

Contact trading standards.............this machine is obviously 'not fit for its purpose'

You should be able to get recourse from the manufacturer if not comet...................go see them or phone but don't let it drop..................

    Good luck :)

"I purchased goods over a year ago and the guarantee has now expired. The trader has advised me that he does not have any responsibility for the goods. Is he right?"

No! Guarantees are extra to your legal rights. If the goods are faulty due to an inherent fault, it is the trader's responsibility to rectify the situation.

    Is the Indesit machine WA155?
I bought mine 16 months ago, after I'd had it for a year I paid to extend the warranty for another year.
About 6 weeks ago it too started making horrendous noises that were so loud you couldn't hear the television even with the volume turned right up, it also ruined a whole load of washing, dirty circles all over it.
I rang the repair number and explained about the washing and asked if I would be reimbursed for the ruined clothes and was told "No, that's what we class as subsequential loss and you are not covered for that"
He then gave me a number to ring to arrange a repair and when I eventually got through I was told it would be a week before anyone could come out.
The service engineer came on the 2nd August and as soon as I started to tell him what was wrong he said "I know, it's making a lot of noise and your washing had dirty circles all over it. That'll be the spider bearings gone, but I don't have any for this model, I'll have to order them" I was told to allow 10 days, when it got to 15 days and I had heard nothing I rang again and was told the parts won't be in till Monday 23rd August and that an engineer will be here on Tuesday 24th.
I'm beginning to think that this is a design fault and you can bet your life if I don't extend the warranty when it runs out the same thing is likely to happen again if How_Much's experience is any thing to go by.
