Hi people,
I am completely new to credit cards and need some advice. Basically I want to get a card for a one off. I am having to book a load of flights for my mates stag do but don't have the money up front to do it. So ideally I want to get a card on which I can pay all the flights on and then pay it all off when I get the money off people (which should be within 6 months) without being charged! Does such a service exist!!!
Any help or advice would be great!
Cheers

You will need to look for a card with 0% on purchases, If your friends don't pay you back then you will be left with the debt.
However if it is for flights you may get extra protection as you are booking with a credit card.
Whilst you are collecting the money you will still need to make at least the minimum payment to the credit card.
Sometimes a good idea to set one up by direct debit so that you never miss the date.
From the best buys table:
The Marks and Spencer’s &More card is the longest 0% deal on purchases lasting 12 months, plus it offers loyalty points on all spending, worth 50p per £100 spent to buy M&S goods.

Hi willcoop
Welcome to MSE & the credit card board!
You don't mention your age, but presumably you have a bank account and you're registered on the electoral roll.
As this will be your first credit card, I would approach your own bank first. There are no shortcuts to building a credit history. For tips to improve your chances, click on *Credit Rating* in the black box at the top of this board. Also, select Martin's *Check and Improve your credit score* article near the top of the page.
Very best
