Neighbours have dumped fridge in communal area

Myself and OH are students and share a courtyard type area at the front of our rented house. Cars are parked here and wheelie bins are stored here as well.
Next door had renovations including a fridge being replaced. The old fridge has been dumped in the courtyard area, next to the bins, we're guessing with the expectation the bin men would remove it with the bins.
I've checked online and can see the council need to be contacted to collect a fridge and this costs between £20-£30.
OH wrote a polite note and put this through the door asking for them, or them to contact their landlord to arrange the correct disposal of the fridge but as of yet there has been nothing and this was more than a week ago.
With the weather as it has been the fridge is disgusting and it really beginning to become an eyesore.
Is there anything else that we can do?
Thanks for any advice.

Move it to the roadside and the Scrap metal collection Fairies will soon take it away.Eat vegetables and fear no creditors, rather than eat duck and hide.0

Take it to the tip yourself0

As students we have no car in Leeds to take it down to the tip ourselves. The bin collection was this morning and I had a word with the bin men and they said they don't remove it.
It's on private land so I don't know if that is still classed as fly tipping.0 -
Put it on their doorstep.

You could always get in touch with Environmental Health and explain the situation to them.0

Because it's bothering them and the neighbours obviously have no intention of moving it. Sometimes if you want something doing badly enough you have to take things into your own hands. I know if someone had dumped a fridge on my driveway and it was bothering me I'd get rid of myself if they ignored my requests to remove it.0
