I ordered my first voucher recently for a massage. Not had it yet but looks promising. Also I recently registered on topcashback and discovered Groupon is on there so if you go through them to order vouchers you should get 10% cash back on top of the original saving.

They used to pay £6 cashback for orders over £5 - so you could get a lunch deal for £5 and make a £1 profit + a free lunch. :D Unfortunately groupon changed it to 10% so no more free lunches. :( Regarding the emusic offer you can get 50 free tracks and pay nothing (cancel the trial within 14 days) then wait a month or two and they will offer you 75 free tracks to come back (which will cost you £10 for the first month including 25 tracks) so £18 for was poor value when you can get the same thing direct for half the price or the 50 tracks for free which was enough for me (4 or 5 cds worth).

Totally off topic I know but with E-Music- do you know of any mainstream stuff which exists on there? I am finding stuff but little if any of it is mainstream and its a battle to find new stuff! I have my 150 tracks and I am beginning to think I wont get to use more then about 10% of them!

Well emusic is not really the place for mainstream (top 40 charts) kind of stuff, it depends what kind of music you like but all these are on there:

    Be Good Tanyas (3 albums)
Frazey Ford (New solo album Obadiah: fantastic)
The XX (Mercury Prize winners - great album)
    Belle and Sebastian
    Frightened Rabbit
    Admiral Fallow
    Camille O Sullivan
    Gotan Project
    Great Lake Swimmers
    Richard Thompson
    Strand of Oaks
    Phantom Band
    Po Girl
    Cave Singers
Woodenbox with a Fistful of Fivers
    Mogwai
    Portishead
    Bon Iver
    Gaslight Anthem
    Vampire Weekend

    Folk:
    Blazing Fiddles
    Shooglenifty
    Peatbog Faeries
    Crooked Still

or just browse through the most downloaded list:

  • Hi (first post forum ever!),

I've bought two deals from My City Deal (another group buying scheme), one for a photobook from Photobox, and another for a waxing at a salon in London (Look Fantastic in Notting Hill).
I'm very suspicious of these deals and always check everything before I buy anything, but had no problems with the vouchers. The salon I went to was very professional, knew straight away about the voucher and even offered me a £10 discount for a next time.

I've been wanting to try the laser hair removal deals for a while now, but I'm really unsure about the places they advertise. Does anyone have any info about this? I look online at the places and in other forums, but it seems no one has had a positive experience with any clinic ever!
    Any thoughts?
    Thanks!

Hi, I used them for the glasses direct voucher and was very pleased!!

They keep sending me a voucher for laser home teeth whitening, which I am interested in, but wondered whether anybody else had had any experience of it?

I use My city deals - Groupon.

I always read the daily email and just go for hair appointments really, ones I've had so far have been easy to book. I always check the website to make sure I can get to the salon as I don't drive.

I have had 2 cuts so far, 1 was £15, 1 was £12 both with intensive treatments, excellent salons. I'd go back to the last one I went to as it's one of the best cuts I've had and was an all organic cruelty free salon.

My next deal is at an Aveda salon - cut and colours for £30, this has worked out so well as wanted colours doing before Christmas and I can go in half term from work as it's a Mon- Fri one. Went for my skin test today and seems a good salon.

I ordered a deal for handbags but when that came was only leather ones - and I got a refund no problems.

Have also had a couple of cheaper lunch deals which were nice.

Reminds me I should book in at a salon in Brum where I got £120 worth of treatments for £30 but valid until March, so couple of haircuts and some beauty treatments I think.

So far it seems very good with some too good to be true prices, might not always be good but at the mo I'm happy:)

  • I have brought the restaurant vouchers but they are a hit and miss. So it is better to research the places first. And you have got to book in advance other than that i think its value for money.
  • I had my hair cut and colour today from a groupon bought at the start of september, it had a 3 month limit. It was good enough value, only got blonde highlights, no 2 or 3 colours, just the one. Having said that I didnt ask, but it wasnt offered. The offer was for whole head, I only wanted half head. The cut is nice even if not exactly like the pictures I took of heidi klums new cut! Dont know if I would go back, will see how the cut and colour look in a few weeks. Think it was £29, I usually pay about £65 for 3 colours.
  • Aah this thread is exactly what I'm looking for. I have been worried about these deals being too good to be true. I seems from the thread that the general advice is to do research first - i.e. check out the salon or restaurant before buying the deal.

    Thank you all!
