May as well give it a go - afterall you can return items that you don't sell. Try and get some xmas items - the skin care range, winter shower gel, and some of the xmas gifts perhaps - the basket set, lipgloss set, and SSS set (they've done really well with my customers). Then if you have any stock in from creative ordering you could try and sell that. Have lots of packs to give people who need a rep to order form - maybe a sample or two, and your details. If you have any items you could have as demo items maybe have them - perfumes particularly, as if people try it and like it, they might well place an order with you - so have a few brochures handy too.
Thats what I was thinking- if dont sell all of it then can easily return it! thought about the wrap ur own gift set thing but do it as a raffle or something- that way I get abit more money that way!
I have all these idea's running into my head now of what I can do and how to do it! going to talk to the school later on if I get chance when I go and do the delightful school run!
I've also got a few bits ordered that are coming tomorrow! that I ordered as they were cheap just to put away/give as free gifts to say thankyou and sorry for waiting for so long for their order to be delivered! but can get the demo products from the HT to put out as well like you said!!
Oh how I love christmas..!0 -
just been out to collect my 1st lot of brochures, not one order
im going back out this afternoon to cover the rest of my roads
wish me some luck!!
hey dont worry - i have discovered that the key to avon is
PERSISTENCE PERSISTENCE PERSISTENCE
also, remember to be friendly and approachable and reliable. :rotfl:
the thing is you dont know what the rep before you was like, they may have been extremely unreliable, taken orders and never delivered, etc etc, and a rep that does half a job is worse than no rep in my book! so once you have shown that you are organised and they see that you leave a book and collect it when you say you will, then they will start to order from you!
do you put an introduction letter in with your books?
when i canvass new roads i put a tick box note in asking if they would like to recieve books/if they have a rep/never leave a book EVER again. (in joke :rotfl:) and this is quite effective because then you will ultimately find out who NOT to drop a book to and who you can remain persistent with. if you want me to send you my template pm me your email address. of course if you are brave enough you could knock on peoples doors which is always a good way to gauge if they are interested or not and if people see a friendly face they may be more inclined to order?! but i'm not that brave..... :cool:DFBX2016 #160 - £3550/£8800

Well, I'm putting myself out there asking for reps. Done some free ads, a street of expired brochures (lots more ready to go out) and started putting up free "posters" (they're A5). Not mentioning "earn extra cash for Christmas" at all. It implies that it's just a temporary thing between now and Christmas and I want to get people who at least set out with the intention of doing it for a while.
Also doing my recanvas with cards I got from Vistaprint. No response yet. Wasn't expecting much because these are people who didn't return their original brochures. Thought I might pick up a couple who just forgot or were away on holiday.
I've definitely got myself a "high maintenance" customerWhen it comes to book collection day that's "not a good day" even though I ask people to leave the books out and they're in sealed bags. So I often have to go back. When it came to delivery I didn't knock loud enough (twice) so got a call to re-arrange but no day was any good (for her - I said to name a time and day) so we couldn't set a new delivery time, so I had to just try every day. Fortunately the first time was a charm. Then I get a call saying the order was put out, has been out for days, can I collect it? It's not due till the weekend and it says so on the form, and I said I was leaving it for 2 weeks when I did the delivery. So I go out to get it just in case the wind gets it or some kids, and it's not sealed in the slightest. If I'd left it any longer it probably would have rained and the book/order got soaked. There's always one...
I used to have my Avon turnover (sales) here. They've been removed because it's not appropriate to talk about those kinds of sales as if they're realistic for a new Rep to aim for.I signed up at the right time, right place, and was very lucky.

The only reason your SL would say she doesn't know who it is, if it is blank because there is currently no ASM in your area and they are recruiting like mine.
It also could be that the Rep is in a different area to the SL, so the SL doesn't know the ASM of that area. They could be miles apart, we don't know.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -
im abit worried about my order thats meant to be coming tomorrow, im worried that its not going to be here by the time i actually leave for work- which isnt until late morning, do they normally take to the local depo to be collected later on that day?? have asked neighbour but she's gona be out x0

It's easy enough for a sl to find out who the asm is for an area, all we need is the postcode and we can use that to look up who the asm is. If your sl can't find out for you, it could be that your area is between asms.Avon Lady since 2009 - I help on the Avon hints & tips thread to help other reps/new sales leaders as I was helped so much by it when I first started out :A0

Woo hoo, collected in my books from the three streets I have recanvassed, and got 6 new customers! Am very pleased although it is kind of bittersweet as loads of regulars haven't ordered, so don't think my total sales will be any higher. There looks to be quite a few creative ordering opportunities though, so thats good.
On another subject, has anyone tried the calming effects foundation. I'd got some samples of the Magix foundation to try, and I really liked it but by the time I came to ordering it had been withdrawn so ordered the calming one in ivory. The colour seems to be lighter than the same for Magix and it really doesn't go on very well I don't thin. Think I'll try the mousse one in clearance book instead.0
