Win a foodie trip to Italy – terms and conditions

1. No purchase necessary to enter the prize draw. Void where prohibited by law.
2. This prize draw is open to residents of the United Kingdom or United States of America, except New York and Florida, aged 18 years or over. Employees of Promoter, its parent company, subsidiaries, affiliates or other parties, including but not limited to Dorling Kindersley Ltd., Penguin Books Ltd., and Penguin Group (USA) Inc., in any way involved in the development, production, or distribution of this Sweepstakes, as well as the immediate family (spouse, parents, siblings, children) and household members of each such employee and/or authors, are not eligible to participate in the Promotion.
3. Entries must be received by midnight on 28th February 2011 in the time-zone of the entrant’s jurisdiction (the “Closing Date”). The sole determinant of time for the purposes of receipt of a valid entry will be the computer servers of the Promoter. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any entries that are incomplete, corrupted or fail to reach the Promoter by the relevant closing date for any reason. Proof of sending is not proof of receipt. Entries via agents or third parties are invalid. Entries become the property of the Promoter and are not returned.
4. To enter the competition, submit your details in the entry form found at www.traveldk.com/italywin by the Closing Date.
5. From all eligible entries received by the Closing Date,one (1) winner will be chosen in a random draw held on or about 1 March 2011 by Promoter.
6. Promoter’s decisions concerning all matters related to this Promotion are final and binding and no correspondence will be entered into.
7. The prize for the winner is a gift certificate for a culinary tour with Epiculinary (https://www.epiculinary.com) worth GBP £3,000 / USD $4,735 and return international flights with North South Travel. The gift certificate is valid until 1 March 2012 and can be exchanged for places on any available Epiculinary Tour to Italy within the price bracket. Epiculinary’s terms of sale and travel will apply to whatever holiday is booked by the winner. The prize comprises international flights and the voucher for the tour only. All airport transfers, spending money, personal expenses, travel and health insurance, gratuities, additional accommodation expenses such as telephone calls, upgrades and incidentals, all applicable taxes and any other items not specified above are not included and must be arranged by the winner at their own expense. The winner of the competition must book and use their travel by 1 March 2012, subject to availability. Once the trip is booked and confirmed, any amends to the booking will incur an extra cost that must be borne by the winner. The winner and their chosen companion are responsible for ensuring that they have obtained all necessary visas and valid passports for travel to the destination and are fit for travel. The Promoter shall not be liable for the winner or their companion if they are refused any flights or accommodation for any reason.
8. The prize is strictly non-transferable. The prize is not redeemable for cash or exchange. Prizes are subject to availability. In the event of unforeseen circumstances, the Promoter reserves the right (a) to substitute alternative prizes of equivalent or greater value and (b) in exceptional circumstances to amend or foreclose the promotion without notice. No correspondence will be entered into.
9. The winner will be notified via email or post or phone by 15 March 2011. To be confirmed a winner, the selected entrant must: (a) claim their prize within 30 working days of the Promoter sending notification, and (b) sign and return an affidavit of eligibility and compliance with the Promotion’s Terms and Conditions and release of liability and consent to publicity (“Affidavit”). If a selected entrant does not return the Affidavit with in 30 days of being awarded the prize, or if the prize is unclaimed after this time, it will lapse and the Promoter reserves the right to offer the unclaimed prize to a substitute winner selected in accordance with these rules. Winner’s chosen travel companion must sign and return a liability/publicity form prior to commencement of travel.

11. The Promoter will use any data submitted by entrants only for the purposes of running the prize draw, unless otherwise stated in the entry details. By entering this prize draw, all entrants consent to the use of their personal data by the Promoter for the purposes of the administration of this prize draw and any other purposes to which the entrant has consented.
12. The winner agrees to take part in reasonable post event publicity and to the use of their name and photograph in such publicity.
13. By entering the prize draw each entrant agrees to be bound by these terms and conditions.
