It's a typically fuzzy email.
Looks to me like Rye by Post are abusing the VERO program.
They obviously don't like people competing with them.
Some VEROs don't allow people to re-sell their items... but it's not like film cells are an infinite resource.

edit: or maybe it IS an infinite resource.... 'film cell manufacturer'? !!!!!!?My TV is broken!
Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j0 -
If you search for Lord Of The Rings or Two Towers on thier site nothing is found0

Sorry to be thick, but what's a film cell?0
-
Well, I THOUGHT a film cell was a piece of the original recording of the film.
They tend to frame them... obviously there is a finite supply, and each one is unique, so they're collectible.
That said, I've never known of a company that 'manufactures' them.
Examples here:

obviously there is a finite supply
Why?
I'm not sure how the 'film cell' business works, but movie companies make more prints from a duplicate negative any time they need them. The only real limit to supply is the number they choose to print.
That said, I don't see how they can possibly stop you selling them on to someone else.0 -
way over my head dont get why yo u cant sell them on v.strange!"You have succeeded in life when all you really want is only what you really need"

There I was thinking that if you bought a film cell, it WAS one of a kind. I remember when they chopped up The Wall and auctioned it off.
What's the point of buying a film cell if it's just a piece of celluloid from a reel from one of thousands of cinemas showing that film? What's collectable about that?
I have a Zatoichi film cell which came with the collector's edition DVD, and I really hope that's one of the good onesMy TV is broken!

I can sell you some unique film cells...... hang on i'll just get my negs out and I guarntee there will not be another copy in the world! What would you like a picture of a cat, dog, house.................
I have always thought these film cell things are a con!0 -
do these people perhaps own the right to the lord of the rings film cells?
They dont have to sell them themselves even, just have bought a license from whoever made the film . Then if someone sells a film cell, they would need to pay these people who now own the rights?
Or could they perhaps be connected to the tolkien family who probably still own the rights to the stories??0 -
if you bought it and didnt produce it or copy it then i dont see the problem. They cant stop you selling something you bought legit, it is like saying once you own it you cant sell it ever again.
Did you buy it from a legit place? Not that it will make a difference to ebay as if the person reports it again then it will just be cancelled again and you could end up in trouble with e-lawuntoitself-bay"The darkness has no answers"0
