E-mailing 8 second video

A couple of weeks ago I posted hoping to learn how to send a video by e-mail.
I now understand there are strict limits about the size of file we are allowed to send. Additionally I also understand there are similar limits regarding what we are allowed to receive. There is no point sending a 10Mb file if the recipient can only receive 5Mb.
I have 2 e-mail addresses myself and will try to send myself an 8 second clip.
My 2 e-mail addresses are
Yahoo
and
G Mail
Please is anyone aware of the send & receive limits on both the above providers?
Thanks
Mike

I suspect the email providers will publish this information on their websites. Otherwise, why not try emailing the file to yourself to see if it is received?
If you're going to be sending/receiving files regularly and don't mind leaving your PC on while the recipient downloads the file, you might want to use FTP. FileZilla is a good FTP client/server.0 -
esuhl,
Thank you.
I tried. It wont.
Various client/servers were suggested last time I posted but I realised that the recipient has to be registered with the same server. They may not be and may not wish to be.
I was hoping someone might have already compiled a comparison between e-mail providers with regard to their main features/advantages/disadvantages and might have been able to provide a link.

eshul,
Thanks again.
Followed the link you provided and it appears both yahoo & gmail allow files of up to 25mb to be sent.
This confuses me further as one of the files I have just tried to send from gmail is 13.6mb and I got a message immediately saying the file is too big.
Any ideas?

Upload the video to YouSendIt (Double click on 'Select File', find the video that you wish to send and double click on it; then click 'SEND IT'. Wait until it is uploaded and a link is produced. Copy the link and paste it into your email. Your recipient can click on that link in order to facilitate the downloading of your file.)0

Have you thought about uploading it to YouTube? Then you can share the link with anyone you like. That might be easier.0

Get your own domain/hosting then you can set your own max & no worries plus your own personal domain name with your own personal email addys

You could compress it into a zip file etc.0

As Donnie suggests, YouSendIt is probably the easiest option. But if you have problems with that you could use Dropbox. Normally you'd install it on several PCs and use it to synchronise files between them, but it also features a "public" folder, where you can put files that can be accessed by anyone. You just right click on a file, choose "copy public link" and email the URL to whoever you like.
It's free for 2GB of space, but I can send you a referral link that gives us both an extra 250MB if you like...

I haven't done a recent comparison, but I use GMX, which is great and has loads of features. According to their website, you get a 5GB account, and attachments can be up to 50MB. They also let you upload 2GB of files which I think you can share somehow (I imagine you'd get a URL like you would with files in Dropbox's "public" folder).0
