Hi everyone.....
I went bankrupt in Sept last year and got an early discharge in April of this year. Also in the meantime my house that I shared with my Ex-husband was repossessed and they are obviosuly chasing him for any shortfall (it has jsut sold but Im not sure for how much).
My questions are:
I went bankrupt in Sept last year and got an early discharge in April of this year. Also in the meantime my house that I shared with my Ex-husband was repossessed and they are obviosuly chasing him for any shortfall (it has jsut sold but Im not sure for how much).
My questions are:
- I got married last weekend
, can anyone go after my new husbands money for any reason ?
- If the house does sell for a shortfall, now I am also officially discharged (it's over a year sicne going BR) - can they come after me for any shortfall or will they just persit with chasing my ex-husband (he's in the ROI so they've got no hope of getting any money out of him)?

New OH - NO! He is not liable for anything. However a joint account with you (or anything fincancial and joint) will affect his credit rating.
Shortfall - As long as you have never and will never sign anything from the mortgage company about this shortfall, then no you will never be liable for the debt. NEVER sign anything though as the forms may make you liable by turning the shortfall into a new debt and new debts cannot be included in your old BR. So don't sign!0
