Spam button missing on posts on sticky threads?

I've had it pointed out that the spam button doesn't appear for posts on any sticky threads?
Is that the same for all of us?
Presumably that is deliberate so, that stickies and subsequent important posts can't be removed by misuse of the spam button?
If so, is there any chance of just missing it off the first, say, 10 posts of a running sticky thread? Or is that a lot of hassle to do?

So is post 11 of a sticky post not as important as post 10?
The only post that perhaps shouldn't have a spam button on is post#1 of a sticky as otherwise abuse could lead to the whole thread disappearing (as I understand it). Don't know if that's an easy thing to do either though.
I think all stickies should have the spam button in place, and posts/threads that are removed that way should be reviewed by the FT and reinstated if caused by abuse (as the rules already permit).
Needless to say, action should be taken against those found to have abused the function ..."Now to trolling as a concept. .... There's no spam button on DT threads either, although I use the old version of the site.Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.0

Not at all. It's just an arbitrary number picked from the air.
I was entertaining the idea of more than just the first post, as there is or could be the need to have more than one important informational post at the start of a sticky. There are a few on the boards like that.
Or perhaps just the first post would be sufficient?
I don't know. Just floating the idea.
Personally I agree with you that it would probably be better to have the button on all posts. Even the first one.
But if MSE deliberately set it up this way, then they seem to think they need protecting? And may be reluctant to go that far?
It's annoying though, as for obvious reasons many spammers target the topmost threads on a board. And so stickies that can be posted on see more than their fair share.
But there has surely got to be a better way than just removing the button from the whole thread?Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB
