My OH thinks this- the rhino has 10 legs which is six more than he needs. The spider can get about with four legs but the frog can not with only two legs, so it can have 2 of the 6 spare legs. The Giraffe therefore can have the remaining 4 spare legs. OH is laughing his socks off as he says this, so don't know if it's right (!)0

Thanks for that! Felt very silly posting it and then OH started to feel bit silly too and now feels much better:D0 -
How about:
The Rhino has six spare he needs to get rid of to have the 'correct' amount.
The Spider needs 4 to be correct
The frog needs 2 to be correct
So the Giraffe has 4 to start with as theres no spares left and everyone is happy?:D
If your theory is correct then the giraffe would have 0 legs to start with?
So 4 or 0 for me
Or... The rhino has 4 of his own legs and has eaten 4 spider legs and 2 frogs legs, the Giraffe has 4 as the rhino couldnt catch him?0 -
Perhaps it's something to do with the letters of the words. Originally I thought double the amount of vowels in the words but it doesn't work for the rhinoceros as he'd only have 8...
Then I clicked on the link and looked at the picture. As the picture depicts the animals with the number of legs stated in the riddle, perhaps the giraffe has none? Because they're only showing half of the frog, so perhaps it's not that they're hiding the legs of the giraffe?
This really has me stumped.A-Z Challenge: ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ

... and there I was thinking it had something to do with the letters in the words - such as 'n' having 2 legs, and "i" having 1 leg, or the number of straight lines contained in the letters of each word.
I think I'll have a go at this months Cash Hunt - it's probably easier than this!0 -
I put this on my non comping fb and lots of people put 2. (2 of his are with the rhino and 2 are his own)
Rhino has 10 so 6 over
spider has 4 needs another 4 from that 6
frog has 2 i'm counting his front fronts as 'arms'
there's 2 left over from rhino so to make his 4 he must have 2 already?SPC 2023 #033 £352.08 /2024 £?

Def gotta be 4 or 0...I'm leaning towards 0..0

I think my OH has it....I gave him a bit of paper with the clue on and I think he has got the answer:)
Rhinoceros = 10 letters
spider has 4 of the letters in rhinoceros
frog has 2 of the letters in rhinoceros
giraffe has 3 of the letters in rhinoceros
THEREFORE I AM GOING WITH 30 -
Sounds right to me! Well done to your OH!:)0
