I know nothing about cameras and I need one for tomorrow night... Is this Pentax any good? Ideally I don't want to be spending more than around £70.

I shot a vein in my neck and coughed up a Quaalude.

I agree the Canon is a good option and there's the A495 at Amazon, but I guess it's too late for that.

The Canon A3000 at Argos is a decent camera but a bit more expensive at £80 and has optical image stabilization which is far better than "digital anti-blur":

Not sure about the Pentax - their cheaper cameras are very hit an miss. I notice that you want it for "tomorrow night". Most of these cameras will will work OK in good light but can struggle in less good light. For indoors they need a good flash. The Canons do get good reviews so that would be my choice despite not having the 5x zoom of the Pentax.0
