Hertz Car Hire in California

Hi Everyone,
I'm heading out to California next week for a 2 week break. As part of this we are driving from LA to San Francisco. Have done some car hire research and just booked a weeks car hire with Hertz for £205.
A couple of questions that hopefully people might be able to answer.
1, The cost includes LDW. Do i need any additional insurance or will this cover me?
2, My rental booking shows a 'one way rental confirmed' on it but doesn't mention any costs with this? Should i expect to pay anything on arrival?
3, Any ideas on Hertz's fuel policy? Will i be stung for an expensive full tank of fuel when collecting?
Many thanks for any help with this

If you drop him an email through that website, he'll be able to help you with all your questions I'm quite sure. I always take the car with a full tank, leave it back empty and never have any more to pay.CC Debt October[STRIKE]£9000[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]£7000 [/STRIKE]all finally on 0% Digging at the same pile but this month I've got a bigger shovel
July 2012 finally DEBT FREE0 -
Unless you absolutely want to book from Hertz then try booking through a 3rd party site. One of the best for US and one recommended by many in the Las Vegas thread is http://www.carhire3000.com/. Their rates usually includes all with zero excess and in most cases they are far cheaper.
In California I believe there is no one way drop fee but you can doublecheck by calling the CH3000 freephone number for a quote.
Have a great time and make sure you are driving the PCH1 route from LA-SF!0 -
hertz does include all the insurance
you can find a 10% off coupon and gold#1 membership if you google a bit0 -
Thanks for the replies. Much appreciated!!0

With Hertz I'm always offered the opportunity to buy a full tank of fuel for a 'discounted' price.
I just say "No thanks, I'd prefer to return it full" and they usually give up then..If they don't, I tell them I find it quite tricky to return a car empty.
Their all-inclusive-prepaid-in-the-UK rate includes pretty much all the insurance you'll need. I think it excludes under vehicle damage and tyres, and they are very good at finding tiny widscreen chips, but after some form filling it has never cost me anything.

Had the confirmation that there is no one way charge :j
Just waiting to get the fuel policy confirmed but will be happy to return it full. Pretty happy with the deal as it is for a convertible so just looking forward to cruising with the top down in California0
