Fisher-Price Recalls High Chairs And Toys

Fisher-Price is recalling hundreds of thousands of toys and high chairs amid safety concerns reported in the US.

The announcement is part of a wider US-led recall of more than 10 million items after reports of injuries.

The UK recall applies to nearly 73,000 high chairs after 14 reports of problems in the US, including seven children requiring stitches.

The chairs were sold between September 2001 and last month and US health and safety experts say children could be hurt by pegs on the back of the high chairs used to store a tray.

Another 165,090 products with inflatable balls have also been recalled after US concerns the valve of the ball could come off and potentially result in a child choking.

Fisher-Price has set up a consumer helpline on 0800 0320 615 for those seeking more information about the recall.

Retailer Mothercare has also recalled a product after US authorities warned parents to stop using them.
The baby sleep positioners were taken off the shelves after the US authorities said they had received 12 reports over the past 13 years of infants between the ages of one month and four months dying when in or next to the positioners.
