Info about DSAs

Does anyone know much about DSAs?
Basically how long/many DSAs can you have?
e.g. if a student has been given a DSA for 6 years (part-time study) and then decides to do another part-time degree afterwards, are they then eligible for another DSA[if their condition has stayed the same, same help needed etc etc]?
i.e. i'm asking is 3 years FT/6 years PT the MAXIMUM amount of DSA you can have IN TOTAL PER STUDENT
or
is 3 years FT/6 years PT then MAXIMUM amount of DSA you can have PER DEGREE
P.S. sorry i never ask a straight forward easy question....

according to the info produced by the DfES, DSAs are not affected by previous study, so if you start another degree, you should still be eligible for help. however, any equipment you have received through a DSA for your first degree will be taken into account.
