I'm beginning to think they recognise my name and just print off the bog-standard letter now as the points they raise to tell me I'm not entitled are the same every time EVENTHOUGH i counter-claim them every time i ask for an appeal! Just about getting to the stage when I'm ready to give it all up.
any suggestions?
Get a social worker to fill out the form for you. Don't get them to help you, get them to do it for you, a question at a time - mine took the form from me, and asked me the questions in a way that I gave a full and complete answer to each part, which I thought I'd done already! A good social worker can be an amazing help with DLA forms, and I generally don't have any time or patience at all with that particular profession! But it worked for me. If you don't have a social worker, ask you GP to refer - or go to Citizen's Advice Bureau for advice. Good luck. I know the system sucks! You have my sympathy.0 -

Welfare Rights are at your local council, phone them and they should be able to put you through or do what i did e mail them, I couldn't talk to them i was so upset and couldn't stop crying I would have been so embarrassed talking to them on the phone. Find your councils web site and a-z of services.
EDIT: Its not so much the visit from the doctor that gets the benefit but the wording on the forms filled in, yeah i know its a joke but unfort. thats how it is.0 -
Well, I was an arthritic 32 year old (I'm now an arthritic 42-year old!). Applied for DLA in 1999. The first time I was turned down, the Doctor's report was a tissue of lies! I represented myself at the appeal and just went through the inconsistencies (saying I could undress myself without help, when I hadn't been asked to undress, etc). I was awarded higher rate Mobility and lower rate Care for 5 years. When it needed renewing I went to The CAB and they filled out the forms for me. My rheumatology nurse did the bit from the person who knows you best, and I got 3 years without a mumer.
Have to do it all again next year (God, it comes round fast! It's not as if I'm likely to get better...)C'est le ton qui fait la chanson0 -

Something similar happened to me with the Doc they sent out. He only asked me 3 questions and proceeded to fill the pack in himself with what he though without asking the questins related to his answers. He should be struck off from as a DWP doctor, he should also be ashamed of himself.0
