MS Word

I bought this CD separately when I purchased laptop last year however everytime I open Word it asked me whether I want to Accept or Decline End User Licence Agreement. Its just a little thing, but it's quite annoying everytime I open Word. Is there a way of getting rid of it? I paid for the CD so it's not on trial or anything.
Thanks.

Have you tried accepting the agreement? Should just be a one-off statement. Perhaps you are just closing the window without answering.

  • Yes, I agree it every time but next time I open Word, there it is again!

What happens after you accept? Can you proceed to Word itself, and edit, create and save docs as normal?

Apparently the problem is you are running your Office apps from their shortcuts. Go to the Program Files directory and then the Microsoft Office directory. Find the actual program giving you the problem (Word in your case). Right click on it and select "Run as Administrator". The program will open. Click to accept the EULA and close.
Then, when you run from your normal shortcuts, no more EULA. At least that's the theory!

  • Thanks for that Victor 2, unfortunately when I right click, it doesn't show the option to Run as Administrator. Any further advice gratefully received.
  • Sorry, yes when I accept it proceeds normally.

What version of Windows and Office are you running?

You're definitely following find the actual program' ??? Open Explorer, and navigate the folder tree under your C: drive, via 'Program Files' and via the MS Office folder to get to (eventually) a file named winword.exe - then right-click on this.

Report back if you don't get 'Run as Admin' when doing this.....
