Self Employed and Employed?

Can anyone advise?
I am currently working 16hrs self employed and received working tax credits. I would like to apply for a weekend position which is only 6hrs, therefore would I be able to carry on being self employed during the week and employed at the weekend so that I keep my tax credits?
Thanks

Yes you can do both. When you get your self assessment form, there's a page to fill in for each PAYE employment where you fill in the employers name, the PAYE code, your gross pay and any tax you've paid. Both the S/E and PAYE income is then added together to come up with your tax bill. The tax and NI you pay in PAYE is taken off whatever figure is arrived at and a bill or refund sent accordingly.0

Thanks Hammyman - if I were offered the position would they require a P45? The reason I ask is if I could I would prefer not to tell them that I was self employed during the week as I think it may hamper my chances!Yes you can do both.
