Dear Friends,
I hope someone can give me some info...
Basically I am going to move to new address in 20 days time and hence I had selected the SKY installation date as moving in date. But what will happen meanwhile in this 20 days?
What about new phone line? How will they activate?
I know the box and contract etc will arrive at my new address but the property is empty and the owner is like i will leave your post there.
Also can i just call them couple of days before and change installation date?
I am getting SKY for first time...
Thanks in advance.

Why don't you just wait?! If you haven't had it before then why bother making life difficult for yourself when you can move in and live with normal TV for a couple of weeks. It's what most of us do.
You've exchanged I presume?Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

So are you saying you don't currently have Sky and you will be receiving the subscription when you move into the new property?
If this is the case you have to have your TV installed first before the phone line or broadband can be connected. We had our TV installed and about 14 days later had the BT Openreach engineer out to install the phone line (I think this is called a New Line Provide). Sky sent us a text message and letter to confirm when the phone line would be active and we then had to call up to order the broadband which took a further 14 days.
The engineer when he installs your Sky will bring the box with him (I take it that is what you refer to when you mentioned the "box and contract etc will arrive at my new address")?
The terms and conditions are sent out pretty soon after your installation as due to distance selling/OFCOM regulations there is a 30 day cooling off period, but you do not sign a contract per se it is a verbal/oral contract.
Pushing the installation date I do not see a problem with, but bringing it forward may not be as straightforward.
Hope this helps!0 -
