Hello, I've been looking at going to Scotland for sometime - I've been 'compiling' a list of places I'd like to go and see.
I was watching bbc breakfast news this morning and there was an interview with Michael Palin about the Britain from the Air exhibition, in the background there was a photo slide-show. A picture came up of a lovely looking place and all I heard was "...in the north of Scotland". It was a conical hill/mountain with a patchwork of pools around it.
I've checked the websites and the photo isn't there, it''s not available on iplayer and I've tried emailing the bbc. So far no luck. I've even tried googling a variety of descriptions to see if I can find it. I'm hoping that someone else saw it and can remember the name. (I'm guessing that no one will recognise it from my description!)
thanks,

Didn't see the piece, but there is a mountain which stands alone - try googling "Suilven".
It's in the far north west, a long way from anywhere, but well worth the trip.0 -
I'd given up on this post - and hadn't noticed your reply.
Thanks very much - that's the place! amazing looking - (on a sunny day, amazing on a stormy day, but not so sure I'd want to be walking there when its stormy!)0 -
In Sutherland, a long way from anywhere. But if you want to experience Scotland at it's wildest and most remote then go for it! I hope you like single track roads!
I'm off to Fort William in a few weeks myself.0
