Refurbishment works

I just wondered if someone could give me an idea of whether a quote I've had for some works is a fair one or not. Admittedley, I've only had the one quote so far, but if it's a reasonable one, then I may need to rethink the job and perhaps not get it all done at once!

So here goes:

14'3" x 10'5" room - replacement ceiling to be skimmed, plus remainder of the room also to be plastered.

In the same room, there's an arch which needs to be squared off. We've been advised that there's no extra support needed in doing this bit.

Three rooms also need replacement ceilings and full plastering. Their dimensions are:

14'4" x 10'0"
13'0" x 10'5"
9'8" x 7'9"

The house is an old one and it's likely that the plastering in each room (aside from the new ceilings) will be more than a skim, but not as bad as being back to brick.

I'm in the North East London area.

The quote I've had so far is £5,500. It seems steep to me, but maybe I'm being completely unrealistic.

I'd be grateful for any advice....as well as any recommendations for anyone who could do the work!

i wouldnt lke to say as id never give an estimate without going to the job and seeing first hand but it should be around a good 1800 quid less than that,if theres no rads to remove but depending on state of walls in rooms but your opinion of the state of walls may well be different to mine. But just over the three mark is fair even at london prices.
