Does anyone know if you can take candles in your hand luggage (I am flying with Flybe)? I am guessing it is a stupid question and that it would not be allowed but it isn't mentioned in their list of forbidden items.

There doesn't seem to be any specific restriction on them in either hand or checked luggage.
Though if they are the gel type they will have to satisfy the 100ml rule0 -

Just to explain this: candles might be regarded as being liquids for security purposes (I was once stopped because they regard shoe polish as being a liquid), and you are only allowed to take up to 100 ml of liquid on bard with you.0
